Free Trial
Every copy of Murmur includes a 7-day free trial. You get full access to all features — no restrictions, no credit card required.
What the trial includes
During the trial, every feature is available without any limitations:
- All transcription engines and model sizes
- Global hotkeys and auto-paste
- AI refinement
- Meeting recording and diarization
- Voice notes and teleprompter
- Statistics dashboard
- History, export, and playback
The trial is genuinely full-featured. There are no watermarks, no reduced recording limits, and no features held back.
When the trial starts
The 7-day clock starts the first time you launch Murmur, not the first time you use any specific feature. Opening the app and closing it immediately still starts the trial.
The trial expiry date is shown in Settings > License while the trial is active.
When the trial ends
After 7 days, Murmur shows a paywall when you open it. You cannot use the app until you purchase a license and activate it. Your recorded history and settings are preserved — nothing is deleted when the trial ends.
Purchase at murmur.you for $29 (one-time, with a 14-day money-back guarantee). After purchase, activate in Settings > License and the paywall clears immediately. See License Activation.
Trial state and reinstalling
Trial state is stored in the macOS Keychain, not in the app bundle or application data. This means:
- Deleting and reinstalling Murmur does not reset the trial.
- The trial continues from where it left off after an update.
- The expiry date is tied to the Mac, not to an account.
This is by design. If you genuinely need a fresh trial (for example, you are evaluating on a different machine), that Mac gets its own independent 7-day trial on first launch.
Checking trial status
Open Settings > License to see how many days remain in your trial, or whether the trial has ended. A persistent indicator also appears in the main window while the trial is active.
